Planning for my Music Video

 For my music video I have decided on using the song "Die Young" by Kesha. I have chosen this song because it fits idea I have in mind for my music video. This song is very up beat and happy, and I think it could go well with any type of music video. Since Kesha does different types of music videos, I decided to differentiate my music video from hers. My music video will be very up beat and happy, and will make the music in the background sound fun. 

Props

For my music video I will be using a surf board as a prop. My actor will be seen carrying the surfboard, and using it to surf on the water. 

Costumes

For my commercial, I will be using one main actor through out the entire music video. The actor will be seen wearing a swimsuit of some sort while we are filming. At the beginning of the music video, the actors hair will be dry, and towards the middle and end, their hair will be wet. I plan on showing my actor go to the beach, and surf. 

Schedule

For this music video I will be following a schedule to complete the entirety of it, in a timely manner to give me time to film, edit, and publish the music video. On November 17th I will have research the conventions of the types of pop music, music videos for this project and plan for filming and editing. On November 18th and 19th I will storyboard my music video, and decide on what shall be filmed in the music video. On November 20th I will be getting my props ready, and reiterating to my actor what will the music video be about, and what they will do. On November 21st I will film my music video at the beach, and my actor will be surfing. On November 21st I will edit my music video, and look to see if I have to re-film anything over Thanksgiving break. This gives me time to re-film anything over Thanksgiving break if I deem necessary. 

Location

The location of this music video will be at a house to show my actor getting ready to go to the beach. Later it will be filmed at the beach to show my actor surfing. I chose these locations because I believe that these help show the story of going to the beach. Also the beach is a well known area to go surfing, therefore I believe this would be the best place to film. 

Backup Plan

My backup plan for this music video is that if the weather is undesirable, I have the opportunity to film on another day since I will be on Thanksgiving break. However, I will take the opportunity that day to film everything that is indoors. Thankfully since I scheduled everything to be done before the due date, I have a lot of time to film, or choose another day to film if the weather is undesirable.

 I decided not to film this weekend due to the fact that I didn't have all the items needed. In a previous blog I mentioned all of the items I needed to film. The past weekend I decided to dedicate it to making a list and buying everything I needed for the film. If I didn't dedicate this weekend to buying all of the materials I needed, I would not be able to film. I would rather film fully prepared with everything I need before hand, than start filming and not have anything. Planning to Film

 I can not film during the week due to school and other obligations I have. Instead of not being proactive about filming, I decided that I am going to see what I need to do before I film. I looked at what props I would need for the film, and seeing what I would need to do to attain that. I decided that I will probably need some rope for my final task, so I have to see how much it costs, and where to buy it. I also must decide when I am going to go out and buy the rope with my parents since I don't have a car. I also must decide who I want to act in the film and who they are going to play. After I decide who I want to be in the film, and who they are going to play, I have to contact them. I plan to start filming and having everything I need by next weekend, so that gives me a lot of time to plan. Genre Research: Action

 I conducted research this year on the action genre of movies where I discussed the different aspects of the genre of action movies. I made sure in the powerpoint to add different pictures and examples of each term I researched. I specifically used pictures from action movies to show how each term was used and to show action examples. I discussed the lighting in action movies, which typically tends to be low-key lighting, high-key lighting, and Rembrandt lighting. I used pictures from movies like "Fight Club" to show the use of this lighting in these movies. I discussed the camera angles in action movies, which tend to be establishing shots, ariel shots, close up shots, mid shots, and high angle shots.
