My Pitch

After spending time thinking about this project, I have come up with two pitches for this task. My first pitch is a story about someone getting kidnapped and they must find clues to find the kidnapper and their friend. My second pitch is a story about a murderer targeting a group of people and they have to find out who the murderer is before everyone is killed. These two pitches took a long time to come up with since I really wanted to do something that not only interested me but others. I first had to come up with an idea about what I overall wanted the genre to be about. After a lot of thinking, I decided I wanted my movie to be in the genre of a thriller since movies that are thrillers usually keep everyone entertained. After deciding that I wanted my project to be a thriller, I had to think about what I wanted my project to be about. I came up with these two ideas since I love mysteries and thought that it would be really fun to film these two ideas. I believe that these two ideas are very interesting to watch and to film, thus helping me in my decision making. Out of the two pitches I made, I am really interested in trying to film my first pitch over my second pitch. I came up with my first pitch relatively fast because it was one of the first ideas that I came up with since it sounded so interesting to me. I also believe that this idea is attainable with the proper people in the film and the right props. However, if I were to decide to ultimately complete my first pitch over my second pitch, I would have to get creative on how I use and make props. I would also have to film with other people in order to complete my first pitch. However, I believe the pros of my first pitch outweigh the cons, and thus would be a good idea to film for this project. My second pitch would also interesting to film over my first pitch in some aspects. This pitch is also very interesting, however this pitch may be a lot harder to film in terms of finding props to use. Since my second pitch would be more about a murder and a murderer I may need to spend money trying to find a prop weapon and fake blood. Overall, I will be filming my first pitch since it is the most interesting one out of the two, and it will be a lot more attainable to accomplish. I really enjoyed both pitches, but I truly love my pitch about someone getting kidnapped and they must find clues to find the kidnapper and their friend.

 I decided not to film this weekend due to the fact that I didn't have all the items needed. In a previous blog I mentioned all of the items I needed to film. The past weekend I decided to dedicate it to making a list and buying everything I needed for the film. Planning to Film

 I can not film during the week due to school and other obligations I have. Instead of not being proactive about filming, I decided that I am going to see what I need to do before I film. I looked at what props I would need for the film, and seeing what I would need to do to attain that. I decided that I will probably need some rope for my final task, so I have to see how much it costs, and where to buy it. I also must decide when I am going to go out and buy the rope with my parents since I don't have a car. I also must decide who I want to act in the film and who they are going to play. After I decide who I want to be in the film, and who they are going to play, I have to contact them. I plan to start filming and having everything I need by next weekend, so that gives me a lot of time to plan. Genre Research: Action

 I conducted research this year on the action genre of movies where I discussed the different aspects of the genre of action movies. I made sure in the powerpoint to add different pictures and examples of each term I researched. I specifically used pictures from action movies to show how each term was used and to show action examples. I discussed the lighting in action movies, which typically tends to be low-key lighting, high-key lighting, and Rembrandt lighting. I used pictures from movies like "Fight Club" to show the use of this lighting in these movies. I discussed the camera angles in action movies, which tend to be establishing shots, ariel shots, close up shots, mid shots, and high angle shots.
