Planning to Film

 I can not film during the week due to school and other obligations I have. Instead of not being proactive about filming, I decided that I am going to see what I need to do before I film. I looked at what props I would need for the film, and seeing what I would need to do to attain that. I decided that I will probably need some rope for my final task, so I have to see how much it costs, and where to buy it. I also must decide when I am going to go out and buy the rope with my parents since I don't have a car. I also must decide who I want to act in the film and who they are going to play. After I decide who I want to be in the film, and who they are going to play, I have to contact them. I plan to start filming and having everything I need by next weekend, so that gives me a lot of time to plan. I also plan to film throughout spring break since I will be able to film during the week since we will not have school. I also must start thinking about how much this project may cost with the props needed. I made my storyboard this week, thus I have an idea of what the project is going to look like. Since I have created the storyboard I have started thinking about when I want to film each scene. I also started thinking how and on what platform I want to edit the entire film. I also have to start thinking about what music I am going to use in the film, and where I am going to put the music. I have to research what music I can use without getting permission, and what music I would need permission for. I also have to see where I would put each song and what time I would start the song in the film. I also need to start thinking about how I am going to edit this entire film together. I need to start thinking about what transitions I am going to use in between scenes, and how I am going to use those transitions. I also have to visualize what I want the final product of my film to be and how I would want it to look like when it is complete. Overall, I am excited to start this project, and I need to have everything thought through and prepared before I start.

 I decided not to film this weekend due to the fact that I didn't have all the items needed. In a previous blog I mentioned all of the items I needed to film. The past weekend I decided to dedicate it to making a list and buying everything I needed for the film. If I didn't dedicate this weekend to buying all of the materials I needed, I would not be able to film. I would rather film fully prepared with everything I need before hand, than start filming and not have anything. Genre Research: Action

 I conducted research this year on the action genre of movies where I discussed the different aspects of the genre of action movies. I made sure in the powerpoint to add different pictures and examples of each term I researched. I specifically used pictures from action movies to show how each term was used and to show action examples. I discussed the lighting in action movies, which typically tends to be low-key lighting, high-key lighting, and Rembrandt lighting. I used pictures from movies like "Fight Club" to show the use of this lighting in these movies. I discussed the camera angles in action movies, which tend to be establishing shots, ariel shots, close up shots, mid shots, and high angle shots.
