Editing my Gatorade Commercial

Image
I have completed the filming process of my Gatorade commercial, now it is time to edit my commercial. I have dumped all of my film on to my laptop, and imported it into imovie. I during this process I had to add music and edit the film so the commercial would make sense. I first put all of the clips in order of how I want them to be shown in the commercial. I had to edit a few clips to make sure that the clips would be able to make sense. A problem I ran into while editing the clips was timing since the commercial had to be thirty seconds, I added some clips to the commercial. I also had issues with sound, since there was noise in the background of my scenes. At first I didn't know what to do about the sound in to background of my scenes, however I learned that I could turn down the sound of the video clips. However this brought about a new challenge when editing my commercial. The new challenge is that I wasn't able to add any music or sound to the scenes of my commercial.  ...

Filming for My Gatorade Commercial

Image
I started filming my Gatorade commercial on October 28th, at Holiday Park. Days before I started filming I met up with my actress and we talked about what is going to be in the commercial, and what she would be doing. On Wednesday, October 28th I gathered my main product, filming equipment, and brought my storyboard, and met my actress at Holiday Park to film my Gatorade commercial. When we got to the park we noticed our spot that we were going to initially film was taken up by a sports team. We quickly thought of another plan which was to film on the side of the field, where there was still grass, however no one was there. When we started filming, my actress noticed when she put on her running shoes, there was a hole in the shoe. Instead of letting the hole in her shoe ruin the commercial, we had a backup plan and saw that my actress had her cleats in her car and decided that would also work well for the commercial. After those events happening, we finally started filming the com...

Planning Storyboard for my Gatorade commercial

Image
First scene- In my first box of my storyboard, you see that we are in a grassy area and that the actor is in a crouching position.  In this scene I will be filming the actor getting ready to run, and right as they start, this shot will be filmed behind the subject. I believe this is a good way to start my commercial since you see the actor starting a workout, and this is the start of the commercial.  Second scene-  In the second box of my storyboard you see my actor running in the grassy area that was previously mentioned. I decided to continue the scene of my actor running but from a different angle, instead of filming from behind, I decided to do a mid shot. My actor will run into the scene while I am filming and run out. This will be a continuation of my previous scene and will transition into my next one.  Third scene- In the third box of my storyboard you see my actor doing pushups. In this scene my actor will continue their workout and move on to pushups....

Planning for my Gatorade Commercial

Image
Props I decided to create a Gatorade commercial, with that comes the planning and creation of this commercial. For this commercial I am going to use a bottle of Gatorade as a prop to advertise and drink within this commercial.  Costumes For this commercial I will have one main person throughout the whole commercial. This person would wear athletic clothing like a loose fitting shirt or tank top, shorts, and running shoes. The person in the commercial will wear their hair back to prevent their hair getting in their face, which would prevent the audience from seeing them. I plan on having my main subject do exercises, therefore having them wear athletic clothing is crucial to the development of this commercial.  Schedule I will follow a schedule to complete this project in a timely manner and have time to film, edit, and upload this commercial. On October 23rd, I researched the conventions of Gatorade, and started to plan out how I will complete this commercial. On October...

Research Blog: Commercial Conventions

Image
For this assignment on filming a commercial, I have decided to film a commercial on Gatorade. These commercials typically include someone doing strenuous work, like a physical activity (running, playing a sport, ect.) These commercials also includes an athlete being shown drinking the Gatorade after completing the strenuous work. In these commercials the athlete could be shown wearing costumes like shorts, sports bra, tank tops, and other athletic clothing to convey the message that the athlete completing hard and strenuous work. Props in these types of commercials typically include weights, jump rope, items needed to play a sport, and Gatorade branded items. In these commercials the athletes typically look very tired and sweaty, either through out the commercial or towards the end. The sweat signifies that they were completing a very hard work out, in which then the athlete is shown drinking Gatorade and then feels refreshed and energized. These commercials are mainly targeted to...
