My Music Video

After working hard for weeks on end, I have finally completed my music video. This music was anything but easy, I faced multiple challenges along the way and met those challenges with solutions. This music video helped me learn different problem solving skills for problems I would have never thought of. I am really proud of how hard I worked to film and post all of my blogs throughout this project. I believe that I have grown in my film making skills and in directing by completing this music video. The whole process of planning everything out before I did it made this process so much easier. Since I researched the conventions of pop music and saw the theme of them, I probably would have been so confused on what to film. Therefore, researching the conventions of pop music videos was crucial to the completion of this music video. With the conventions of this music video researched, I had to storyboard what I wanted to film in this music video. This part was challenging in a manner since I am not a good artist, but with me drawing the same scene multiple times, I completed the storyboard portion. The main reason why I was able to complete everything on time and by the due date was because of the planning I did. I was able to plan out how much time I would spend on each portion of the project. From being able to plan everything out, I was able to complete this project in a timely manner. Also with planning I was able to have solutions for any problem that were to occur, therefore limiting most problems. Doing all of this work previously before filming, I was able to finish filming without running out of time, since I knew what I wanted to film. This was very helpful since this gave me more time to focus on the more challenging portions of the project, and left time for me to film anything again. After completing all of the filming I started to edit, which is the hardest portion of this project. I learned so much by editing this project, like what is unnecessary to the music video. Editing this music video took the longest time out of every portion of this project, but I am happy to say that I have grown so much when it comes to editing. Overall I have learned so much from this project, and with a lot of trial and error I have completed it in it entirety.

 I decided not to film this weekend due to the fact that I didn't have all the items needed. In a previous blog I mentioned all of the items I needed to film. The past weekend I decided to dedicate it to making a list and buying everything I needed for the film. If I didn't dedicate this weekend to buying all of the materials I needed, I would not be able to film. I would rather film fully prepared with everything I need before hand, than start filming and not have anything. Without all of the proper items needed to film, this film would not be complete and would overall take longer. Planning to Film

 I can not film during the week due to school and other obligations I have. Instead of not being proactive about filming, I decided that I am going to see what I need to do before I film. I looked at what props I would need for the film, and seeing what I would need to do to attain that. I decided that I will probably need some rope for my final task, so I have to see how much it costs, and where to buy it. I also must decide when I am going to go out and buy the rope with my parents since I don't have a car. I also must decide who I want to act in the film and who they are going to play. After I decide who I want to be in the film, and who they are going to play, I have to contact them. I plan to start filming and having everything I need by next weekend, so that gives me a lot of time to plan. Genre Research: Action

 I conducted research this year on the action genre of movies where I discussed the different aspects of the genre of action movies. I made sure in the powerpoint to add different pictures and examples of each term I researched. I specifically used pictures from action movies to show how each term was used and to show action examples. I discussed the lighting in action movies, which typically tends to be low-key lighting, high-key lighting, and Rembrandt lighting. I used pictures from movies like "Fight Club" to show the use of this lighting in these movies. I discussed the camera angles in action movies, which tend to be establishing shots, ariel shots, close up shots, mid shots, and high angle shots.
