New Location for Filming

 I was planning to start filming during my spring break, and to film with my parents and my grandfather. We went to the park initially planned and noticed that there were a lot of people. All the people at the park made it very loud and we couldn't film a single scene without someone getting in the way. It was very frustrating to film with everything in that area. This caused a lot of problems when it came to filming since we couldn't get anything done. I decided that we would no longer film at the location initially planned due to the amount of people and the noise. So many people in one area could pose a very big risk of being exposed to COVID-19. Also with all of the noise in the area, it was hard to hear what the actors were saying in each scene. Not only was the audio a problem, but people kept walking in the middle of our scenes. Scheduling to Film Again

 After finding new actors, this comes with new problems to overcome. I now have to plan for a new date to film since my parents and grandfather have to go to work during the week. It seems as if problems keep on coming every time I try to get ahead and start filming. I couldn't start filming the day I wanted to start filming due to the fact that my mother had to work that day. I decided to discuss with everyone who is going to be involved with the film, when it would be best to start filming. We had to take a lot of things into consideration like when would everyone not have work, and what time would work best. We all decided that during the week wouldn't work at all since we all have obligations to attend to. Finding New Actors

 It was coming closer to the day where I had to start filming, and disaster struck. One of the actors I was going to film with got COVID-19 and can't film with me. At first I was struck with a range of emotions because they were out with the other actors, so I wouldn't be able to film with them either. I was so stressed out and I had so much anxiety since I was told very close to the day that I had to start filming. The first thing I did was tell everyone that I would no longer be filming with them. I had to keep myself and my family safe from getting and spreading COVID-19. Instead of just sitting there and doing nothing about the obstacle, I decided to push filming back a day and find new actors. That was another issue, where was I going to find actors in such short notice in a pandemic. Finding Actors and Planning

 I am planning to start filming this weekend, thus I must prepare for that. I have already acquired all of the needed props and materials to film this weekend, now I must contact the actors. I already had in mind who I wanted to be in my film, so I decided to contact them. I contacted three people and told them my pitch for my film, what we would film, and what days I plan on filming. I also discussed the time and place of where we would be filming to see if they could come. After discussing time and place, I went over what safety measures I would be taking during filming. I went over what I would have to keep everyone safe, like an first aid kit, and that we would be able to call emergency services if needed. I also went over how we would keep each other safe during COVID-19, and how everyone must wear a mask if not filming. Planning to Film: Items Needed

 I decided not to film this weekend due to the fact that I didn't have all the items needed. In a previous blog I mentioned all of the items I needed to film. The past weekend I decided to dedicate it to making a list and buying everything I needed for the film. If I didn't dedicate this weekend to buying all of the materials I needed, I would not be able to film. I would rather film fully prepared with everything I need before hand, than start filming and not have anything. Without all of the proper items needed to film, this film would not be complete and would overall take longer. This weekend I looked around my house to see what I had, and what I could use as props for my film. I looked all around my house since I would like to use items I already had instead of going out and buying items that are unneeded. Planning for Final Task: Titles

  For my final task I will be using a bold text to draw attention to the titles within the movie. The title being in bold allows for the title to go with the theme of the film. I will also be using the font Arial Black, so showcase these titles. The font Arial Black is already in bold, thus allowing for the titles to be in bold already. Each title will be shown for 2-4 seconds to give the audience enough time to read each name. All of the titles will have to be edited in since it would go with the thriller theme the best. I will edit all of the titles within the movie myself since I am not working with anyone on this final task. The titles will be on the sides of the screen where it is easy for the audience to read and see. I will also have all of the titles in capital letters to add emphasis and importance onto the titles. Planning to Film

 I can not film during the week due to school and other obligations I have. Instead of not being proactive about filming, I decided that I am going to see what I need to do before I film. I looked at what props I would need for the film, and seeing what I would need to do to attain that. I decided that I will probably need some rope for my final task, so I have to see how much it costs, and where to buy it. I also must decide when I am going to go out and buy the rope with my parents since I don't have a car. I also must decide who I want to act in the film and who they are going to play. After I decide who I want to be in the film, and who they are going to play, I have to contact them. I plan to start filming and having everything I need by next weekend, so that gives me a lot of time to plan. Planning for Final Task: Storyboard

For my storyboard I did 60 boxes for all of my scenes for my final task. This will help me complete the final project in a timely manner, and help pace myself when filming. Also the storyboard will help tell me what needs to be filmed, and how that will be filmed in my final task. I also wrote down what is happening in each box for when I film just so I could have the extra detail. I also wrote down any lines said in the scene to remind me to tell the actors what to say in each scene.  

Planning for Final Task: location, health, and schedule

  Schedule For my final task I will try to start filming on March 13, to make sure I can contact everyone who must be in the film, and make sure they can be there. I will only be able to film on the weekends due to the fact that I have to be at online school for most of the day during the week and I play a high school sport. Thus, with this in mind I decided that I will try to conclude my filming on March 28. After I complete my filming I will start the editing the following weekend, which will be April 3. I will try to finish editing my film together by April 17, to make sure I have enough time to edit it. I will be uploading all of my film to iMovie to edit all the scenes together. Following the conclusion of my editing I will show the film to some peers for peer editing. I will also watch the film by myself to see if everything fits together and makes sense within the storyline.
